Quiet Logistics Announces Jacqueline Riggs as Vice President of Operations

Industry Veteran to Manage Robotic QuietCenters for Growing Fulfillment Service Provider

ANDOVER, Mass. – August 4, 2009 – Quiet Logistics, the first multi-tenant robotic order fulfillment service provider, announced that Jacqueline Riggs has joined the company as its vice president of operations. Riggs, bringing more than 25 years of experience, will be responsible for all aspects of Quiet Logistics' expanding fulfillment operations, including the development, implementation and management of its QuietCenters™.

"Jackie has vast experience in implementing and operating highly automated pick, pack and ship facilities at a scale for both retail replenishment and Internet retail," said Bruce Welty, CEO of Quiet Logistics. "She is as innovative as she is effective. Jackie is also a leader that engenders fierce loyalty from her staff and customers."

Prior to joining Quiet Logistics, Riggs was the senior director of operations for drugstore.com, a $400 million Internet retailer of OTC, grocery, vitamin packaging, contact lens and pharmaceuticals. There, she was responsible for the planning, staffing, budgeting and operations of a three-site warehousing and distribution operation. Averaging 14,000 orders daily for delivery worldwide, she managed a 24/7 operation with a team of more than 300 associates.

In 2003, Riggs and her operation received the first eTail Award for Fulfillment during the 9th Annual eTail2003 Conference. Sponsored by World Business Research, the award recognized drugstore.com for excellence in fulfillment services, which includes warehouse operations, real-time inventory control and customer service.

"As a distribution professional, I can see unlimited and immediate opportunities to innovate for our customers around the Kiva robotic technology," said Riggs. "Whether multi- or single-tenant, our core fulfillment operation can adapt to new products and value added services quickly and efficiently. The Quiet Logistics operation and business model offer our customers the most innovative service I have seen in my 27 years of distribution."

Before drugstore.com, Riggs ran successively larger Internet (B2C) and retail replenishment (B2B) warehouse operations as a director of operations for Office Depot. In addition to fulfillment, Riggs managed the dedicated and contract delivery of Office Depot's electronics, office supplies and furniture.

Quiet Logistics delivers its on-demand order fulfillment services in a specially designed QuietCenter, which can store and ship a wide range of consumer products including apparel, healthcare, beauty, office supplies and similar consumer packaged goods. By significantly reducing touches and human involvement in the handling of goods, Quiet Logistics is able to reduce cycle times and opportunities for error while delivering a 2-3 times improvement in throughput.
